Rhythms of Africa – Run Di Riddim | Every Beat for Jamaica Day 1

Rhythms of Africa, the annual musical odyssey of vibrant African
cultures to the Caribbean and the Americas, is set to captivate
audiences again! Under the direction of Reggae Ambassador Willie
Stewart, this year’s concert is themed “Run Di Riddim,” and will support
hurricane recovery efforts in Jamaica.

Three exceptional talents headline the event as special appearance
guests: the award-winning, global superstar Richie Stevens, song stylist
“Gem” Myers, and reggae recording artist JC Lodge. They will join the
Rhythms of Africa Band and 30 young students from Somerset
Academy Central Miramar on stage for the 90-minute event.
Willie Stewart, the renowned drummer and president of Embrace Music
Foundation, expressed his excitement about the involvement of
Somerset Academy Central Miramar students, who have been
participating in a 12-week percussion workshop in preparation for the
event.

Presented by Embrace Music Foundation with generous support of the
City of Miramar and hosted by Mayor Wayne Messam, “Run di Riddim”
reminds us during a time of pronounced division in our society of our
common ancestry and roots, shared journeys, and the power of music,
the universal language, to make and keep us whole.
